About Us

accent

Built by tennis enthusiasts to help players connect for competitive matches worldwide.

Our Mission

Tennis ladders have been around for decades, but the tools to run them haven't evolved. Spreadsheets, paper sign-up sheets, and outdated websites make organizing competitive play harder than it needs to be.

We built TennisLadder to change that. Our mission is to make organizing tennis competition as easy as playing the game itself.

Why We Exist

We believe competitive tennis shouldn't be limited to clubs with expensive management software or tech-savvy organizers who can build their own solutions.

Whether you're running a casual office ladder or a city-wide competitive league, you deserve modern tools that work on any device and make everyone's experience better.

Meet the Founder

Paul Ferguson

Paul Ferguson created the first tennis ladder in Santa Monica in April of 2011 after finding it difficult to meet new players. He also founded a USTA league team in the area which he led to the Southern California Sectional playoffs, and started developing his tennis network from there.

By participating in local tournaments and talking with players, he believed there was a need to launch tennis ladders all over to help players connect for fun and competitive tennis matches.

Early Tennis Days

Growing up, Paul played on his high school tennis team at Cherry Creek High School in Denver, Colorado, where he discovered his love for the tennis ladder format. The program had over 200 juniors participate, showing him early on the power of ladder play to build tennis communities.

Mission

His goal is to serve tennis players around the world and help them connect to enjoy the terrific sport of tennis.

Background

Paul holds a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from the University of Colorado at Boulder, and a Master's degree in Business Administration from Pepperdine University in Malibu.

He spends his free time bicycling, working on this website, and playing ladder matches.
