Ladders

Send a challenge

Challenge a player above you, suggest times you are both free, and pick a court.

A challenge is how you set up a ladder match. You propose when and where, and your opponent answers.

Who you can challenge

Your ladder's rules decide who you can challenge. Most ladders let you challenge players a few spots above you. On the relaxed setting that is up to 4 spots, and on the competitive setting up to 3. There is also a limit on how many open challenges you can have at once.

The Challenge button only appears for players you can challenge. Tap another player and you see why, such as "Only 3 spots above you" or "Has an open challenge". Players who are away cannot be challenged.

The Who moves me up card on Home and above the standings suggests a good opponent, such as a player one spot above you who is free Saturday morning.

Send a challenge in the app

  1. Tap Challenge on a standings row, a profile, or the Who moves me up card.
  2. Under Pick a time you're both free, tap up to 3 suggested times. These come from both players' weekly windows over the next 10 days, with the weather for each. Your opponent picks one. Or tap Other time to choose a date and time.
  3. Choose a court. Your usual courts are listed first, or type one in.
  4. Add a message if you like.
  5. Send it.

Send a challenge on the website

Open your ladder, find the player in the standings, and choose Challenge. Propose a date, time, and court, then send.

After you send it

Your opponent gets a notification and an email. The challenge shows who needs to act and by when. See The challenge clock.

To take a challenge back, open it and choose Cancel.
