Answer a challenge
Accept a challenge by picking a time, suggest another time, or decline, from the app, the web, or a notification.
Last updated
When someone challenges you, you have a set number of days to answer. Answer quickly so the challenge does not run out.
Answer in the app
A new challenge appears under Your move on Home.
- Open the challenge to see the proposed times, the court, and any message.
- Choose how to answer.
Your options:
- Tap one of the proposed times to accept with that time.
- Accept if only one time was proposed.
- Suggest another time to offer up to 3 other times, or a date and time, and a court.
- Decline, with an optional reason.
Answer from a notification
With notifications on, you can answer without opening the app. The notification lists the proposed times. Choose Accept to take the first proposed time, Suggest a time to open the app, or Decline.
Answer on the website
Open the link in the challenge email. You can accept, decline, or suggest a different time.
After you accept
- The accepted time becomes the match time for both of you.
- You can see your opponent's contact details. Email is always shown. Call and Text appear only if your opponent shared a phone number with opponents.
- A match chat opens between the two of you, with quick replies like "Running 10 min late".
- In the app, tap Add to calendar to save the match.
You now have a set time to play the match. See The challenge clock.
Monthly matchups
Some ladders pair players each month. A monthly matchup works like a challenge, but both players accept it.
